🪕 Fort Worth Based Folk/alternative Band 🌪️

Untangle the words from my throat, let 'em out; follow that wild North-Wind. Broken spirits, callused hands, and weary hearts; shine a light and set 'em free again.”

With musical compositions as winding and weird as his curious path, Wheeler is creating a cult following in the Texas music scene through heartfelt lyrics, infectious beats, and tales crafted over years of experience.  Hailing from Hell's Half Acre, wheeler spent his youth in the cultural melting pot of Dallas/Fort Worth, setting the stage for an eclectic understanding of the world.

+ Fresh out of high-school and a little too short for college football, he made a split decision to join the United States Navy after seeing a gnarly recruitment video during the previews of a Thanksgiving Day showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  Shaped-up and shipped-out, Wheeler began documenting his travels in the form of lyric driven songs, capturing the emerald-water ports of Greece, the bustling squares of Spain, the stretching deserts of Africa, and the deep solitude of the open oceans.

+ Wheeler continued his songwriting journey upon completion of his Navy enlistment, next taking insight and epiphany from his blurry C+ college career in Arlington, Texas.  His family began to fill and wallet began to empty as he welcomed 4 children into the world, in-turn adding rich perspective on his trail to reaching the masses of music-hungry listeners.

+ Yes…the story continues.  Wheeler solidified his name by dedicating almost a decade to teaching high school History and Special Education.  Simultaneously,  he dove into a passion of coaching Varsity Football and Softball.  Funny how trails circle because many of the towns traveled for sports became platforms that would soon host WATW on-stage during his new chapter:  Music.

+ Wheeler travels with the band he founded, “Wheeler & the Wounded.”  He can be found playing four-hour sets in the gritty dive bars scattered across DFW, driving the dance-floor of hardwood Stockyard bars, telling stories to travelers along the country roads leading through Stephenville, catching eyes in the busy streets of Austin, enlightening the music appreciators at genuine San Antone venues, and reeling in salt-water poles from the Gulf as he rushes to play a Houston Bay concert.  He also has T-Shirts and Stickers for sale.
